Special People

People are different.  We are different in many exciting ways.  When we can embrace our differences then we have grown into a rare society whose purpose is for the good of all.

There is a group of people who has captured  my attention recently.  It took me awhile to see this group.  I know they have been around me forever, but recently I opened my eyes, my mind and my heart to recognize their worth.

The most beautiful people you’ll ever meet aren’t always the ones who catch your eyes first. No, the most beautiful are the ones that can never be figured out. The ones you could talk with for many hours and still have tons of questions.  These people are the ones who have a mind so lovely and special, you can’t help but fall in love with them.  They do something for you that’s hard to explain.  These are the ones who you never tire of looking deeply into their eyes because you can see their heart there.  The ones whose heart has so much love and compassion and grace that it’s hard to figure out just why you deserve to be their friend.  Those are the ones, the few humans you call friends.  They are uniquely created by God in a world filled with selfish desires and ambitions, yet they chose compassion and love as their companion.  They are filled up by serving.  They are filled up by giving.  These special ones are not in it for fame or recognition.  These ones are in it for nothing, no gain whatsoever.  These ones would prefer you don’t even mention they are anything special.  Some would call them weird, freaks, outcasts.  These ones are ridiculed, laughed at, mocked and even beaten.  These ones are worth more than we can imagine.  These ones deserve to be defended.  These are the ones who we need to notice.  They are the ones we should emulate.  These ones are our heroes.
