Come Find Rest

This “poem” is for those who are being strong in faith, hope and love, yet it hurts when people let us down

When the aching of your body
Tells the heartache that you’ve felt
And the coin that’s in your pocket
Can’t measure what you’ve been dealt
If the fear that clouds your thinking
Is just an empty stare
And the trust that once gave meaning is
A burden you can’t bear

Come find rest
In my tenderness
Come find rest
In my friendliness
Come and find your way back to your home
For the pain that seeps in slowly is just a fleeting breath
And the healing that’s forever is deep within your breast

When the time seems like forever
In an ocean vast and wide
And the worry takes your smile
That you somehow just can’t hide
If your blessings have been silenced
Underneath the pain of pride
And your fellowship with people
Is just a bridge for time

Come Find Rest
In my tenderness
Come find rest
In my friendliness
Come and find your way back to your home
For the pain that seeps in slowly is just a fleeting breath
And the healing that’s forever is deep within your breast

Your brokenness can be the way
To healing bonds and brand new days
You can remain within yourself
Yet rise above the pain, and grow
By letting go of those who fear
And leaning in to those who know

Come Find Rest
In my tenderness
Come Find Rest
In my friendliness

Just know the joy of truest flesh
And Come Find Rest within my beating breast
